Overview:
Elaborate vintage large poison or pillbox ring (circa 1950s to 1960s), crafted in 14 karat yellow gold.
Turquoise totals an estimated 0.90 carats & is set upon an onyx mounting that measures 25mm x 17mm. The stones are in excellent condition and free of cracks or chips.
The ring opens to reveal a secret compartment. Typically this type of ring has been used to carry perfume, locks of hair, devotional relics, messages or other keepsakes.
The substantial ring weighs 35.7 grams, with a hefty feel on the hand.
The ring is in very good condition. We have not cleaned it in order to preserve the patina and collector value.

Metal & Hallmark: 14 karat yellow gold. The ring is not hallmarked though it has tested positive for 14 karat gold.
