Overview:
Finely detailed vintage micro mosaic cocktail ring crafted in 14 karat yellow gold.
Tiny tiles of small colored glass form the image of a bird in full flight (we believe the bird is a dove), set flush into a blue stone mount. Micro mosaic jewelry has been popular since the initial Egyptian Revival period of the early 1800s. This ring was made much later in approx. the 1960s and is a testament to the popularity of micro mosaic jewelry. The techniques used to hand set the micro mosaic is an artform itself. The large round cocktail ring is set into rope style mount and makes a great statement on the hand.
The ring is in good condition with light surface abrasions to the blue stone (visible under a 10x loupe). We have not cleaned the ring in order to preserve the patina and collector value.
