Overview:
Finely detailed vintage large oval cocktail ring (circa 1940s to 1950s), crafted in 14 karat yellow gold.
Centrally mounted faceted oval madeira citrine measures 20mm x 16mm (estimated at 20 carats), accented with 10 approx. 0.04 carat old mine cut diamonds. The total diamond weight is estimated at 0.40 carats (estimated at H-I color and SI1-2 clarity). The 10 seed pearls measure approx. 2.5mm each. The citrine is in excellent condition and free of cracks or chips.
A bold and distinct cocktail ring that makes a wonderful statement on the finger. The Madeira citrine is a deep orange hue that evokes almost a whisky color. The surrounding old mine cut diamonds offer sparkle with the seed pearls a surprising contrast. The seed pearls and diamonds are set in a 'high low' mount giving definition to the ring. The diamonds are each set in secure six pronged mounts & the citrine secured with 20 prongs. The bold and stylish design was popular post WW2 when large yet feminine cocktail rings were in vouge.
