Overview:
Finely detailed vintage opal & diamond pendant crafted in 14 karat yellow gold (circa 1970s).
Cabochon cut opal measures 29mm x 21mm (estimated at 19 carats), accented with an estimated 0.75 carats of diamonds (estimated at G-H color and VS2-SI1 clarity). The opal is in very good condition and free of cracks or chips.
The ornate large pendant is set with a colorful natural opal that exhibits a strong play of colors from green to orange, yellow, purple, red, turquoise and blue. The opal is framed with a heavy gold scrolled mount, sprinkled with diamonds. The pendant bale does not open yet measures 3.5mm wide and can accommodate a small to medium thickness chain. A great statement piece with a distinct design.
The pendant is in very good condition. We have not cleaned it in order to preserve the patina and collector value.
