Overview:
Stylish and finely detailed opal & diamond ring crafted in 14 karat yellow gold (circa 1880s to 1900s).
Cabochon cut opal measures 9.5mm x 8mm (estimated at 2.50 carats). Old mine cut diamonds total an estimated 1.20 carats (estimated at J-K color and SI2-I2 clarity). The opal is in good condition and free of cracks or chips (few light surface abrasions visible under a 10x loupe).
The lively opal shows strong green, turquoise, yellow and orange color flashes. Framed with sparkling old mine cut diamonds the Victorian ring would make a lovely alternative gemstone engagement ring. The medium rise ring (8mm - 0.31 inches) sits comfortably on the finger.
The ring is in very good condition and was lightly cleaned and polished.
