Celestial themed jewelry came to prominence during the Victorian era, with the allure of the moon a major theme in jewelry design. The carved moonstone 'Man in the Moon' face is cabochon cut in a medium dome, allowing light to illuminate the moonstone from within in a magical blue glow (and what the moonstone naturally exhibits). Bordering the moonstone is a halo of old rose cut diamonds set in silver topped mounts, bright and shimmery to complete the magical aura of this stunning bracelet. The bracelet is one of the finest examples of Victorian carved moonstone jewelry we have come across, and scarce to find as a bracelet (more commonly found as a ring). The bangle features a hook closure to the underside of the moonstone & diamond mount and fits securely onto the wrist.
The bracelet is in very good original condition. We have not cleaned it in order to preserve the patina and collector value.
