Stylish natural jelly opal & diamond cocktail ring crafted in 900 platinum.
Cabochon cut natural jelly opal, 2.75 carats (11 x 8.5mm). The opal is in very good condition and free of cracks or chips (light surface abrasions from normal wear evident under a 10x loupe). The opal exhibits a strong play of colors from blue to green, turquoise, orange yellow and bits of red. Surrounding the opal is 2 full emerald cut diamonds, total weight approx. 0.10ct, G-H color, VS-SI qualities, good cuts.
The jelly opal lights up in natural sunlight, with interchangeable colors as alluring as confetti. Jelly opals have a wonderous watery like appearance showing strong color flashes with every movement of the ring. The cocktail ring is small in scale and makes a nice statement on the hand. The medium rise ring (9.5mm - 0.37 inches) sits comfortably on the finger.
The ring is in very good condition. We have not cleaned it in order to preserve the patina and collector value.
