Overview:

Finely detailed Victorian starburst pendant or brooch (circa 1895), crafted in 15 karat yellow gold.

Seed pearls range in size from 1mm to 2.5mm. The pearls are in-tact and in good condition.

The starburst motif was popular during the Victorian era when celestial themed jewelry was worn. The versatile piece can be worn as a pendant on a chain or as a brooch. The piece dates to 1895 (see the below information about the hallmarks).

The pendant is in very good original condition. We have not cleaned it in order to preserve the patina and collector value.

Metal & Hallmark: 15 karat yellow gold. The pendant is hallmarked with the Makers Mark "HG&S" followed by the Mark of Origin for Chester, UK (three wheat sheaves with a sword to the center). The next hallmark is "15" and "625" for 15k gold. The next hallmark is the Date Letter sequence (letter "M") for the year of production (1895).
