Overview:

Finely detailed antique Victorian bloodstone shield ring (circa 1899), crafted in 9 karat rose gold.

The bloodstone measures 12mm x 10mm (in good condition with a small nick to the stone, visible under a 10x loupe)
The bloodstone is cut into a shield design, set into an elaborate etched mount. The ring sits flat on the finger, rising 3.5mm (0.13 inches). The Chester, UK hallmarked ring was made in 1899 (see below details about the hallmarks).

The ring is in good condition. We have not cleaned it in order to preserve patina and collector value.

Stones: The bloodstone measures 12mm x 10mm (in good condition with a small nick to the stone, visible under a 10x loupe).

Size & Measurements: The ring is a size 8 1/2 (not sizable). The mount measures 15.5mm in length (0.61 inches) and 12.5mm wide (0.49 inches) rising 3.5mm from the finger.

Metal & Hallmark: 9 karat rose gold. The ring features several hallmarks. The first is the Makers mark "P&S" followed by the Mark of Origin for Chester, UK (three wheat sheaves between a sword). The next hallmark is "9" and "375" for 9k gold. The final hallmark is the Date Letter sequence (letter "Q") for the year of manufacture (1899).
